ABOUT US
Eden Hill Summer Day Camp is for Boys and Girls ages 4 to 12 on the beautiful Brook Farm campus of Berkshire Country Day School in Stockbridge, MA right down the road from Tanglewood. A Family Business for 48 years. Our children have attended and later became counselors. Our granddaughters and grandsons are looking forward to attending.
Our Camp Mission is to expose sports and leisure time activities to children in a safe environment. Our goal is for campers to have fun and learn by receiving positive reinforcement.
Activities include swimming, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, dance, games, hiking, arts and crafts, rainy day movies, and talent shows. Campers will be divided into groups based on gender and age. There will be times throughout the day when groups intermingle with others during activities.
Directors
Richard Lenfest (B.S. in Physical Education and M.Ed. in Administration) is a retired Athletic Director at Lee High School. He has taught and coached in public education for 38 years. In 1992 he was elected to the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.
Mike Lenfest has been with Eden Hill pretty much his whole life! Starting as a camper in 1984 and now working alongside his father in this role for over 16 years, Eden Hill is family to him and wants this sense of belonging for all campers. With a degree in Business Administration, Mike oversees the camp operations and communications year-round.
Cristina Lenfest BSN, RN joined the Eden Hill team in 2008. She is our Registered Nurse and head lifeguard on campus. Cristina helps enhance our camp environment and offers an extra set of eyes and ears in caring for campers. Her main priorities are to keep everyone safe, healthy, and happy while at camp. During the academic year she also works with children as a school nurse.

Our camp staff is composed of professional teachers and student counselors from colleges and high schools.

Program
Morning classes are held with campers in sports, activities, dance, arts, swimming, etc. In the afternoon campers have free choice of activities.
Lunch
Each camper will bring his/her own PEANUT FREE non-perishable lunch and snack as there is no refrigeration provided. Also, bring own beverage – WATER BOTTLES are a must!!
Apparel
Each camper should purchase an emblem “T” Shirt for $25.

Campers may attend by the day, week or session.
No camp on Thursday, July 4th (Federal Holiday)
Camp hours:
Monday – Thursday 9:00am to 3:00pm
Friday 9am to 12 noon.
Camp costs:
Seasonal – $2,300 (must designate seasonal status prior to entering)
Session 1: June 26 to July 14 – $1,200
Session 2: July 17 to July 28 – $800
Session 3: July 31 to August 11– $800
Any 2 weeks – $800
One week – $500
Daily – $100
Extended Camp: $20 per day/child
Potty training policy
In accepting younger children (under the age of 5), it’s important for parents to understand the need for all children to be potty trained. Your adherence to this policy helps ensure a positive camp experience for your child and the other children in their group. You must agree to the following for your child to be accepted at Eden Hill Summer Day Camp.
Your potty-trained child …
- Will tell the staff he/she needs to go the bathroom.
- Is able to go to the bathroom (either urinating or a bowel movement) on his/her own. This includes being able to remove clothing, sitting on the toilet, wiping himself/herself (without using an enormous amount of toilet paper), putting clothing back on, flushing the toilet, and washing and drying his/her hands.
- Is aware of the need to use the toilet without reminders from the staff (although, staff do make requests of children at various times of the day, for example, before or after meals, and before going to the next scheduled activity.
- Will not be in diapers or pull‐ups at all. He/she must be in regular underwear. Our camp does not have the staffing to potty train our campers. If staff is spending their time with potty training, then they are not able to work with your child and the other children in our routine daily activities. This is neither fair to your child or to the other children. Our staff is aware that accidents happen. That is why we ask you to keep a change of clothing in camper’s bag. However, if your child has accidents at camp, we do not consider your child to be potty trained. If your child is ill and has diarrhea, they should be kept home until they have been episode‐free for 24 hours.
behavior expectations policy
Some behaviors will not be tolerated during summer camp and will warrant immediate removal from camp, with no refund.
Behaviors that will not be tolerated include:
- Abusive behavior. This includes behavior that puts the camper’s own safety and/or the safety of others at risk physically or mentally, including bullying, fighting, throwing/hitting with objects, and verbal abuse
- Group/gang bullying
- Intentional or inappropriate invasion of privacy during restroom use, changing clothing, or other private moments
- Derogatory statements about social status, religion, national origin, race, color, ancestry, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, intelligence, habits, hobbies, school performance, physical size, ability, appearance, and similar personal subjects.
We ask that parents support the effort to keep campers safe. If you hear about a concerning incident, please make sure camp director is immediately made aware of the incident by emailing [email protected] or by calling the Summer Camp Cell phone: 413-822-8850.
If a camper’s behavior prompts the need for constant redirection, pulls staff resources/attention away from the group, or has created safety concerns for other campers or families, the camper will be sent home. Eden Hill staff will ensure that parents are made aware of this possibility and are given adequate information and time to support their camper’s behavior improvement. Sending a camper home from camp is a last resort.
cancellation/refund policy
If you choose to cancel or leave a camp session for any reason, ALL cancellations must be made in writing via email to [email protected]
Eden Hill Summer Day Camp understands that family schedules change, and unexpected events occur. We are happy to accommodate schedule changes and cancellations at our camp.
As a significant amount of the cost of camp is invested long before the program date, refunds vary based on the amount of advanced notice you are able to provide.
-If you give notice more than 30 days prior to your child’s camp start date: 100% of registration minus $50 deposit will be reimbursed.
-If you give notice 15-29 days prior to your child’s camp start date: 50% of registration minus $50 deposit fees will be reimbursed.
-If you give 0-14 days prior to your child’s camp start date: We are unable to offer any refunds or credits.
* Deposits are not transferable, and refunds are not given for participant dismissal, failure to attend, absence, or sick days.
